Our Culture

At Employment Office, we’ve built a strong culture from the ground up and sustained it for more than twenty years. Our people are the foundation of our success, which is why we value and invest in them.

At our offices, everyone is friendly and positive. There’s no one here who you wouldn’t go for a beer or have lunch with. We’re also a family-friendly employer, so it’s not unusual to have visits from our employees’ children and other family members. (If you’re lucky, you might also spot a puppy!)

While we have 80 people in four offices and two countries, we stay connected. We’re always using video conferences, internal messaging systems and social platforms to stay in touch, take care of business, and celebrate each other’s successes, from the big to the small.

Our offices are easily accessible in central locations, surrounded by great places to eat and socialise. Our people often go for runs along the river or at the gym in the CBD, and we offer standing desks to reduce the risks of sedentary office work. Our kitchens are always full of healthy snacks, so we’re fuelled by free coffee, fruit and more.

Employment Office’s high-performance culture is balanced with health, well-being, fun and opportunities to socialise with quarterly team parties, team building events and more. We celebrate all our people’s birthdays with cake, hold end of month wrap-ups, and knock off early on Fridays, with pod parties for those who want to join in for a few drinks.

We’re also proud to throw a number of fun events such as Quarterpaloozas, Tour de Office and Global Gatherings as a way for our people to connect, be engaged and enjoy each other’s company.

Quarterpaloozas
At the end of every quarter, everyone from our offices comes together to celebrate and recognise each other’s successes at Quarterpalooza! This awards night is a great way for our people to relax and socialise. It’s an opportunity to enjoy speeches, trophies, drinks, and dancing at a great venue. We’ve had some great themes so far, from heroes and villains, to active wear, and usually top it off with something fun such as costume prizes or auctions.

Tour de Office
We are so proud of our national home-grown charity, Healthy Workplaces, which powers Tour de Office. Tour de Office, at the time of writing, recently hit the $1 million mark in funds raised for Australian charities!

Established in 2011 by our Executive Director Tudor Marsden-Huggins, Healthy Workplaces powers Tour de Office, an event that creatively combines corporate wellness with philanthropy. The inter-office relay event enables up to 80 employees to cycle in half-hour shifts over one week. Employees compete, engage and raise money for their charity of choice, with Tour de Office supplying the bikes and organising volunteers to manage the event.

Each year, we host our annual Tour de Office week and select a worthy Australian charity to support. For an entire week, we get to wear comfortable activewear to work (score!).

While our competitive nature comes out, we also passionately support each other. Our people usually do dress-ups and dares as a way to raise funds, and our offices compete and connect with each other via leader boards, social posts and livestreams.

Tour de Office reflects our founders’ and leaders’ values of corporate philanthropy, health, and wellness.

Global Gathering
Have you ever ridden a seaplane over a private lake for lunch in Whistler, cruised on a yacht in Hawaii for a Luau on a secluded beach, or gone jet boating and bungee jumping in New Zealand? If you’re one of our outstanding achievers, this could be you!

Our prized Global Gathering is an exclusive annual celebration for top performers with luxurious (some might say extravagant!) experiences over a jam-packed, unforgettable weekend. It’s just another great way that we reward and recognise our peoples’ hard work and accomplishments.

This once-in-a-lifetime event isn’t your typical holiday. It’s an opportunity for an intimate group of the best of the best to celebrate and share incredible experiences together. Our people have ridden in helicopters over beautiful islands, journeyed up mountains on quad bikes, partied in VIP booths in rooftop nightclubs, and even had a snowball fight or two. Some of the destinations we’ve visited include Whistler, Hawaii, Las Vegas, Cancun, Macau and many more.

We all know and respect how challenging it is to qualify and be selected to attend Global. Here, everyone has a pathway to qualify by reaching set targets. How many other organisations offer reward and recognition like this?
