Businesses Gain Strength in a Land of Plenty

“Good people are hard to find” no longer rings true as employers focus on building up their core corporate teams in a candidate rich climate, says recruitment specialist Employment Office.

Managing director, Tudor Marsden-Huggins, said employers are making the most of the overflowing talent pool by placing a renewed emphasis on filling senior roles.

“Employers are entering a candidate arms race; they’re focused on taking advantage of the experience suspended in the current job market and getting those strong candidates on board.”

Employment Office Opens Canadian Headquarters

Brisbane-based Employment Office expands its presence in the northern hemisphere by announcing the opening of its Canadian headquarters in Vancouver today.

Canada is the fifth country to host the recruitment marketing specialist, which has already been established in the UK, New Zealand and South Africa.

Managing director Tudor Marsden-Huggins said the new location will help Canadian business keep their recruitment expenses down by offering a cost-effective alternative to traditional agencies.

Mortgage Brokers are making first home-buyer confidence their first priority as mortgage stress is predicted to rise in the coming months.
Broker News reported the number of households experiencing mortgage stress fell 5.5% in February, with 587,000 households undergoing these issues, compared with 900,000 in August last year.

However, pundits have predicted mortgage stress will rise later in the year, due to continuing unemployment issues and economic uncertainty, with first home-buyers thought to be particularly vulnerable.
