Lifeline Community Care Queensland

"Many thanks for this process – we have found it very effective in generating high quality applications and we have been very pleased with the quality of people who have made it to interview."

Challenge

  • As a predominantly government-funded organisation, Lifeline Community Care Queensland required a cost-effective and transparent recruitment process that would yield quality results, while satisfying requirements of the relevant funding bodies.
  • Lifeline Community Care Queensland establishes a number of community programs throughout the state. Once funding has been received, it is imperative that each new program is up and running as soon as possible, which requires multiple hires across a whole spectrum of roles.
  • As the organisation is focused on human service delivery, the cultural fit and attitude of its team paramount. Using solely resumes, the personality of the applicants was difficult to determine until the final interview stages of the recruitment process, costing both time and resources.

Solution

  • Employment Office’s Candidate Management System provided Lifeline with one central transparent system, which gave the organisation full access to all candidates.
  • Employment Office created online application forms that were customised for each role and included first-interview questions that not only gathered pragmatic information, such as skills and qualifications, but also ascertained the attitude and personality of each candidate.
  • Employment Office’s recruitment solution charged on a per campaign basis, not per hire, allowing Lifeline to hire multiple candidates for a single low fee.

Results

  • Lifeline is now confident that they can fill multiple roles efficiently and cost effectively, enabling community programs to get of the ground quickly. This has ultimately strengthened the organisation’s relationship with its funding bodies.
  • By having full control of candidates, Lifeline has built a talent pool of candidates that can be contacted and hired for future openings in new programs throughout Queensland.
  • The application process has proved time effective as the cultural fit of candidates is known before the interview stages, allowing Lifeline to differentiate between candidates quickly and extend their resources to other areas.
