Kimberley Land Council - Testimonial #2

"We had been spending a fortune on newspaper advertising for little result. When Tina first approached us I was a bit skeptical but given the reasonable quote for services thought I would give it a go. We will never go back to in-house recruitment again.

Employment Office widened the field of applicants enormously and a majority of applicants were interesting in one way or another. I have actually talked to unsuccessful candidates about other roles in the organization.

"We were extremely happy with Employment Office's campaign to recruit our Fundraising and Development Manager.

We received 31 suitable applicants, screened down to 11 interviews. Any of the last shortlisted 5 applicants could have done the job. We ended up with the most outstanding candidate among them at less than 10% of the cost of alternate recruitment agencies.

Thanks Employment Office!"

Laynhapuy Homelands Association Inc

"I have been using the services of Employment Office since earlier in the year for the recruitment of our specialised positions. To date I have found the service to be highly professional and extremely flexible to accommodate the clients particular needs which is important for us being a remote nonprofit Indigenous Association.

I value the input of my Account Executive whom on past campaigns has provided insightful advise, support and all the assistance required to ensure we attract the right people for our positions.

I have found this process to be easy to use and monitor. We had all online application in one place to view and assess, it saved a lot of my time in notifying unsuccessful applicants, Tina and others at Employment Office provided plenty of support and consistently followed up to see how the campaign was going and calls were always returned when I had questions. The market coverage was significantly better than what we have achieved in other advertising campaigns, and there were a large number of suitable applicants.

Overall I feel the online advertising campaign was successful.

Lifeline Community Care Queensland

"Many thanks for this process – we have found it very effective in generating high quality applications and we have been very pleased with the quality of people who have made it to interview."

Challenge

  • As a predominantly government-funded organisation, Lifeline Community Care Queensland required a cost-effective and transparent recruitment process that would yield quality results, while satisfying requirements of the relevant funding bodies.
  • Lifeline Community Care Queensland establishes a number of community programs throughout the state. Once funding has been received, it is imperative that each new program is up and running as soon as possible, which requires multiple hires across a whole spectrum of roles.
  • As the organisation is focused on human service delivery, the cultural fit and attitude of its team paramount. Using solely resumes, the personality of the applicants was difficult to determine until the final interview stages of the recruitment process, costing both time and resources.

Solution

  • Employment Office’s Candidate Management System provided Lifeline with one central transparent system, which gave the organisation full access to all candidates.
  • Employment Office created online application forms that were customised for each role and included first-interview questions that not only gathered pragmatic information, such as skills and qualifications, but also ascertained the attitude and personality of each candidate.
  • Employment Office’s recruitment solution charged on a per campaign basis, not per hire, allowing Lifeline to hire multiple candidates for a single low fee.

Results

  • Lifeline is now confident that they can fill multiple roles efficiently and cost effectively, enabling community programs to get of the ground quickly. This has ultimately strengthened the organisation’s relationship with its funding bodies.
  • By having full control of candidates, Lifeline has built a talent pool of candidates that can be contacted and hired for future openings in new programs throughout Queensland.
  • The application process has proved time effective as the cultural fit of candidates is known before the interview stages, allowing Lifeline to differentiate between candidates quickly and extend their resources to other areas.

LCCQ (Financial Counselling)

"Lifeline Community Care Queensland undertook a bulk recruitment exercise for 20 plus candidates throughout Queensland in which we had over 650 applications. While this seemed overwhelming at times, the culling and selection process was actually very smooth. The website functionality coupled with the targeted questions resulted in a easily managed and consistent process. The opportunity to assign scoring and/or outcomes allowed for filtering for the best candidates."

"Over the past 12 years, I have used numerous methods of advertising for new staff, many of them unsuccessful and a waste of money. Employment Office has helped us with that, it is simple and cost effective. I would not hesitate to continue to use Employment Office for all of our future recruitment needs. The fact that applications are emailed and contain detailed correspondence is a bonus, no more sifting through pages of unsuitable applications. This is not only cost effective, but a hassle free solution to recruiting new staff."

"I thought your service was excellent and the number of responses we received were in excess of what we were expecting. Amongst the applicants there were four that on paper appeared to be a good fit for us however after interview, three moved to the next stage.
